Workshops for children and adults with special needs are designed to suit a range of abilities and attention spans with participants working alongside support staff. We are happy to accommodate small groups for all special needs workshops. Costs for children aged 6-15 years are £10.00 per child. Professional fees for work with adults are negotiable dependent on participant numbers, constraints of time and specific nature of the worshop requested.
‘Thank you so much. The children absolutely loved it. They were so proud of what they had made and were showing everyone when we got back. I was amazed we had done so much in only an hour. I was also impressed by how it held their attention for so long, as generally their attention spans are very short. It was terrific for me too to see what could be done with the materials. Thanks to yourself and Malcolm for a wonderful experience!‘ Kind Regards, Rae Cameron. Puppet making workshop at SMPC for children with complex learning difficulties.
‘My children attended the Scottish Mask and Puppet centre on Friday 12th August with the West of Scotland Deaf Childrens Society. We thought the presentation about different puppets and the history of them was absolutely fascinating for child and adult alike! Great that it was also so visual for the deaf kids that don’t hear so well with their equipment. The puppet making itself, I’ve never seen my daughter be so creative before – not only did she make a puppet, but she created a persona for it planned a story and invited one of her friends around to play ” puppet theatre”!’ Parent West of Scotland Deaf Children’s Society
‘Thank you for a great day. My son really enjoyed the workshop and I am sure we will be back to see some of your Programme. It looks great. I will put the programme on our Facebook page and alert other members to it and thanks for reminder about the induction loop.’ Thanks again. Michelle Mongomery Masters West of Scotland Deaf Children’s Society.
‘Thank you for the fantastic workshop yesterday. The children had a wonderful time and were thrilled with their puppets. The range of materials was superb and the children enjoyed touching the different fabrics and looking at the wide range of colours. The workshop was pitched perfectly for their level. Thank you for taking into consideration their ASN. I cannot recommend this workshop enough and look forward to visiting again in the near future.’ Many thanks Lesley Ann D’Arcy St. Kevin’s School
‘Just to say thank you very much for an extremely enjoyable and fruitful day at the centre last week. Both children and staff thoroughly enjoyed the experience and learned a great deal from it. Thanks again for a very memorale day.‘ Yours Eileen Rafferty
