Sarah Lee, our Centre Manager, has a background in Woven and Embroidered Textiles and holds a degree from Glasgow School of Art. She  has worked with the Nan McKay Community Halls in Pollokshields on a range of textile and sewing projects since 2001.

Most recently she has focussed on patchwork and quilting with a multicultural group of senior citizens. This project  encompasses an intergenerational aspect and is funded by Age Scotland.  The ladies in this project are learning to design and create there own patchwork and quilted pillow wrap.

The work will be on display/ exhibition at the Nan McKay Halls on the 2/ 9/23/30 October from 12.00 – 3.00pm where the staff  will welcome visitors to the Hall. On the same dates between 10:00am – 12:00, four local  P4 school classes will be coming to the Halls to see the work of the group and to take part in a Punch and Judy workshop as part of Scottish Mask & Puppet Centre’s ‘Big Grin’ celebrations for Mr Punch’s 350th birthday year. This event is being held in partnership with Puppet link and Heritage Lottery.
