Cardboard Carnival by Lempen Puppet Theatre Sat 27 Feb 11am

Inspired by the music of Camille Saint-Saëns, with a touch of Darwin and plenty of cardboard, witness the wonder as animals come to life... trunks, tails, ears, wings, elephants, birds, turtles! A source of inspiration and joy for everyone aged 4 to 104!

With their own inimitable style Lempen have taken the fantastic music by Camille Saint-Saëns, and an exploration of the material of Cardboard, movement and invention to make an accessible, visual production, refreshingly focused on the magic of puppetry to leave our audiences inspired by both the animal theatricality of the music and the creative potential of the simple cardboard box.

Lempen Puppet Theatre Company tour their own unique brand of original stories told with puppets. Imaginative, spellbinding, surprising and sometimes bonkers, Lempen focus on puppetry, storytelling, light, music and a journey that takes the audience there and back again. We are inspired to make theatre by Myth and Folklore, crazy characters, what makes us laugh and what we care about. We aim to produce quality productions for family audiences that connect the real world to the world of imagination.

Based in North Yorkshire, but touring nationally and internationally Liz and Daniel Lempen are also the Artistic Directors for Skipton International Puppet Festival.
