About the event

A puppet show for children aged 0 -100+, as Edwards Lear's nonsense rhymes and limericks are brought to life on stage by puppeteer Rob Ashman. Come and meet the Jumblies, the Fizzgiggious Fish. Travel to the land of the Quangle Wangle's Hat, say hello to the Bisky Bat and meet Pobble who has no toes! Join Piggywig in the greatest literary love story since the Dish ran away with the Spoon and lest not forget, the legendary Owl and the Pussy Cat went to sea, in a beautiful peagreen boat.....Told with a cast of fabulous puppets, an innovative stage set and a brilliant new musical soundtrack featuring six new songs to Lear’s famous poems and limericks. Music and singing and of course meet the puppets too after the show.

“We always look forward to Sea Legs’ performances at Square Chapel as they are always hiqh quality and popular with schools and family audiences alike. The puppets are beautiful and it is always a treat for children to meet them at the end.” Michaela O'Sullivan. Education & Outreach Manager, Square Chapel Centre for the Arts, Halifax.

“Rarely do I bother to review anything but I felt I had to in this instance… My 4 year old son was totally mesmerised from start to finish and I love the idea that you simply tell a lovely, meaningful story in an old fashioned fun way.” Heidi Azarpour. Audience Member, Stafford Gatehouse.

Founded in 2001 by Artistic Director Rob Ashman, Sea Legs Puppet Theatre is a small touring puppet theatre. Specialising in bringing fairy tales to life, we love nothing more than bringing joy to children young and old through the magic of puppetry.
