Making and Using Puppets in The Primary Grades

Making and Using Puppets in The Primary Grades

The Oregon Puppet Theatre's Making and Using Puppets in the Primary Grades is an idea-filled video with clear instructions of actual making and construction filmed in three public school classrooms in the USA. It traces the process of making ideas come alive through puppetry. Bits of cloth and paper blend with enthusiasm and imagination to cook up a stew of creativity in the classroom: language-building techniques that work in busy classrooms; successful techniques that turn ideas into plays; ideal for ages 5-11 years; step-by-step recipes for two simple rod puppets; techniques for non-artists; how to avoid "puppet fights". The video is accompanies by an 8-page book. The Oregon Puppet Theatre was founded in 1983 and have taken part in education programmes around the world. Video length: 28 minutes, colour, VHS.
